VMware ESXI - VMRC "Failed to initialize SSL session to remote host."
I have VMware ESXi open in a Safari browser on macOS Sierra and have VMRC installed.
After an update last week to Version 9.0.0 (4288332) the console does not want to open with the message"
"Failed to initialize SSL session to remote host."
The following does not solve the problem:
“Unable to open MKS: Internal Error” when opening virtual machine console (2116542) | VMware KB
Any ideas?

Retry-Failed on vRealize Automation 7.1 Silent Install
Does the vRealize Automation 7.1 Silent Install scripts support Retry-Failed or anything similar to retry a failed installation?
I am trying to use the Silent install script vra-ha-config.sh. Sometimes it fails at different stage and requires rebooting of windows servers or vRA itself. Is there any kind of retry option available to resume installation from where it left of?
Appreciate any advise or best practices around this.

Server 2012 R2 on Vmware ESXi 6 issue with vmware tools
Hi ,
Hope someone can help with some ideas, I installed Server 2012 R2 on Hypervisor Vsphere ESXi 6 up 2. When I turned VM Server 2012 R2 on and after signed in a wizard appear and inform "" Net framework Features 3.5 couldn 't be installed something like that"" So I went to role and features and installed NET framework 3.5 (which include 2.0 and 3.0). After installing it, I installed VMware tools and after restarted Server 2012 R2 a crash wizard shows on screen helper.exe stopped working see bellow. So I tried to close it appear again. One of the option to stop is to install VMware tools without SVGA driver option selected or another option is to go to device manager and roll back display driver from SVGA 3d to Micosoft basic display adapter .
What could be the issue ?
Is SVGA incompatible with Server 2012R2 or because of NET 2 was installed?

Hopefully its gets fixed quickly, but if the past is any prediction for the future then I'm afraid it will take a while.
Are there no beta testers that could have found this?
Fusion 8.5 was the first in many versions to not have had a public beta release, so I guess the answer to that question is no, simply because there was no beta.

After a long week-end I fixed it myself.
I repaired the disks with this article : https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1023888
I had to run it for all the major VMDK and one was corrupt and get fixed ... disk space used went back to 60G

I can't resume Windows 7 VMs (no unity, just fullscreen) getting a crash and a lengthy "collecting bug report info" dialog. Sounds more general than Unity mode.
Mac Pro, local VM on SSD.

How to get all the "In Progress" requests submitted (vRA - Requests page)
Hi,
Could someone suggest how to get all the "In Progress" requests from vRA? I tried to look around API explorer but couldn't find any existing workflow/action that does this.
May be we can filter out based upon the Server.FindAllForType() and then filter out by state such as either "In Progress" or "Successful". Please let me know.

Re: How to create private network across hosts
The VMware vSphere™ vNetwork may be more suitable for your topic.
You can think dvs/VDS/Nexus1000v as a Layer 2 switch.
So if you want a private network, create a VLAN network which is port-profile on Nexus 1000v and will be seen as a dvPortGroup in dvs/VDS.
You need the network to be accessible across 3 ESXi hosts, so on the uplink physical switches where the ESXi hosts are connected you will also need to create the corresponding VLAN matching with the port-profile.
There is no need to create gateway or interface VLAN on the physical switches as you want these to be private.
Then don't you may need multiple Network Adapters on the 3 VMs for the private network.

Sorry for the dumb question but just confirming that the VM only has the two disks attached that you mention with IOPS limits? You don't happen to have a third disk with unlmited set. Like I said dumb question

Melhores praticas para rodar as VMS em storage
Boa Noite Amigos,
Primeiramente gostaria de agradecer a atenção de todos.
A empresa que eu cuido da T.I resolveu comprar seu primeiro storage. Diante desse novo cenário começaram as duvidas.
Atualmente rodo 3 vms em 1 esxi 5.1 , as 3 vms estao em 3 datastores diferentes ( todas em raid 1), gostaria de migrar estas VMS para um storage, para que possa ter a possibilidade de subir mais VM´S.
E agora, existe alguma documentaçao para que faça isso da melhor forma?Vou ter q ligar esse storage via HBA ( em fibra?), ou em placas 10 giga? Ou placas 1 giga seriam suficientes??
E quais storages seriam aconselhaveis, sendo que gostaria de 20teras de espaço..

There is a lot of stuff that we install for various reasons. I have a list somewhere but not on me right now. So I'll start with a few introductory questions to help me understand:
- What version of the View Agent?
- Is it a VDI desktop or RDSH? If RDSH, it an app or desktop session?
- Is your app 16-, 32-, or 64-bit?
We had an issue back I think in 5.0 where 16-bit apps wouldn't work but it's fixed now.

Se o seu host ESXi é gerenciado pelo vCenter, a melhor forma é usando o Storage vMotion, pois voce vai poder fazer isso com as VMs online. Caso contrario, siga as instruções do seguinte KB: Moving or copying a virtual machine within a VMware environment (1000936) | VMware KB

É bem dificil responder essa pergunta sem conhecer as caracteristicas de IO de suas VMs, e além disso tudo depende de quanto você estar disposto a investir, pois cada uma dessa opções vai implicar em custos diferentes.
E quais storages seriam aconselhaveis, sendo que gostaria de 20teras de espaço..
Eu recomendaria o IBM Storwize V5000, veja: IBM Storage - IBM Storwize V5000 pois o mesmo oferece uma grande diversidade de opções de host attachment e você pode começar apenas com a control enclosure e depois crescer adicionando expansões se necessário.

No, the version of vCenter and SRM at the two sites needs to be the same (eg. 5.5 to 5.5, 6 to 6). It doesn't have to be the same minor version (eg. 5.5 u1 - 5.5 would be fine).

I reconciled the time in my template and my customization spec and it seems to be working fine now.Both were in a totally different timezone. Really not sure why it was working for some and not for other VMs but now it is working great. Thanks. I will build up on my script to make it more robust.
