Physical Disk Access

Hi,

I'm having a few problems with physical disk access from within Workstation 9

I have a M6700 with a number of physical disks installed within it

Disk 0 - 300GB HDD - with Windows 7 on a partition

Disk1 - 256GB SSD - running Windows 7 with Workstation 9 installed

Disk 2 - 1TB HDD used for storage

I do a lot of work from my SSD, dev work using a large number of VM's to test things as we develop the solution I'm working on, for 1 reason or another disk 0 has to have full disk encryption on it, I can select at a hardware level the boot device without any issues but my question is around getting a VM to boot from this disk whilst I'm running from disk 1.

I have set the disk not to get a drive letter from the host OS, but every time I power on the VM, I just get a PXE boot loader until it cant find anything then I get "Operating System not found"

Is there anyway to gain access to the already installed OS and boot from it within the VM?

I understand I'm going to run into driver issues once I get this running, but to be honest once its there and working the chances of me not running this from within the VM are very slim.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

R
