We are running Vmware 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1 in our environment and have VMF-3 and VMFS-5 Volumes.
We have a share that is rapidly approaching the 2 TB limit which is the size of the drive partition it is on. We would normally use PTRDM but we can't afford the down time to migrate the data to a new volume. So we are looking at creating a Dynamic Disk in windows as a stop gap until we can afford the down time to migrate 2 + TB of data to a new PTRDM drive.
What I want to know is:
Has anyone tried this? If so what was your experience?
Would their be any potential side effects from a dynamic disk spanning drives running on different versions of VMFS?
