By default local storage is only accessable by the host that it is attached to so you would only be able to storage vmotion without changing the host - but once the vm resides on the local storage you will no longer be able to vmotion to another host.
An option is using the VMware Storage Appliance that will allow you to share local storage amongst ESXi hosts but since you have a SAN I woul consider that a waste of resources -
